The winners of the Joint Japan World Bank Scholarship Programme will receive the following perks:
- Economy class plane travel between your home country and the host institution at the commencement of your study programme and immediately after the completion of the grant period. In addition to 2-way flight tickets, students get a US $500 travel allowance for each trip.

Eligibility Criteria for Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program
To be eligible for The Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program – JJWBGSP, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Required Languages: English
- Eligible Countries: All World Countries are eligible to apply for JJ WBGSP Scholarship
- not have a dual citizenship of any developed nation;
- have good health;
- have received a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) at least three years before the application deadline;
- Possess three years or more of recent development-related job experience following the completion of a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree;
- At the time of applying for the scholarship, you must be working in development-related work in a paid full-time role. The only exemption to this condition is for developing country citizens from a country on the updated list of Fragile and Conflict States, which will be presented to applicants in the Application Guidelines for each call for scholarships.
- Be admitted unconditionally (aside from funding) by the Scholarship Application Deadline date to at least one of the JJ/WBGSP preferred university master’s programs, which must be situated outside of the applicant’s country of citizenship and country of residence listed when the call for scholarship applications opens. You must upload the letter of admission before submitting your application.
- Not be an Executive Director, his/her alternate, and/or staff of any World Bank Group appointment, or a close relative of the aforementioned by blood or adoption, with “close relative” defined as Mother, Father, Sister, Half-sister, Brother, Half-brother, Son, Daughter, Aunt, Uncle, Niece, or Nephew. Please keep in mind that all requirements for eligibility are rigorously followed. There are no exceptions. During an open call for applications, eligibility requirements WILL NOT CHANGE. This information, however, is subject to change between the completion of one application procedure and the start of the next.
