Eligibility Criteria for Utrecht Excellence Scholarship

To be eligible for the Utrecht University Scholarship, you need to meet the following criteria:

• Required Language: English
• Eligible Countries: Students from all world countries can apply (except European countries).
• Be one of your top 10 percent graduating class.
• Not possessing an EU passport and not qualifying for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans.
• Have finished secondary school and/or obtained a bachelor’s degree outside of the Netherlands.
• Have submitted an application for an international master’s programme that will begin on September 1, 2022.
• Be able to meet the requirements for a Dutch visa or residence permit.
• The student is immediately disqualified from the Utrecht University Scholarship if they don’t fulfill one or more of these requirements.

Selection criteria: Eligible students are chosen for a scholarship on the basis of the following requirements:

• Academic excellence & promise in the proposed area of study.
• The academic quality and results of preceding qualifications, as shown by evidence of belonging to the top ten percent of the class, test scores, grades, a writing sample, as well as recommendation letters.

Please note that if the graduate programme deadline falls after the scholarship deadline, you will need to submit your Master’s programme application before the scholarship deadline in order to get the Utrecht University Scholarship.

(4). After submitting your application for a Master’s programme, you may go to Osiris Online Application.

• Use your Osiris username and password to log in.
• Select the ‘New application’ option.
• Answer the questions for the Utrecht Excellence scholarship and attach the required document(s).

(5). You must upload the following documents:

• Evidence proving you are among the top 10% of your graduating class (an official document given by your institution that demonstrates this).

(6). Submit your application.
